JAMMU, Aug 23: A Gender Sensitization Programme was organized by Shrimati Shanti Gupta Centre for Women Studies for the staff members of MIER College of Education and Model Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Dr Poonam Dhawan, Director, Department of Life Long Learning, University of Jammu was the resource person for the programme.
Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER presided over the function.
Present on the occasion were Dr Annie Koul, HoD B Ed wing, Dr B.L. Raina, HoD M Ed wing, Rajendra Praveen, HoD BEd Spl Edu, A K Koul, Group Head HR and QAO MIER. Faculty members of all the Departments of the College and MIET Engineering College attended the Programme.
At the commencement of the programme a wall magazine based on the topic “Gender Sensitization” was inaugurated by the resource person.
Dr. Renu Gupta extended a formal welcome to Dr. Poonam Dhawan as well as other participants.
In her address Dr Poonam Dhawan dwelled upon the concept of gender and how we perceive gender.
