JAMMU, Aug 24: The Co-Curricular Committee of School of Education at MIER College of Education organized annual prize distribution function at its campus here today to honour the student achievers in various categories.
Prof. Rahul Gupta, Registrar, University of Jammu, was the chief guest and Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson MIER, was the guest of honour on this occasion. Prof. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal emphasized the significance of recognizing and encouraging exceptional achievements of students with a wide array of awards ranging from academic distinctions, co-curricular achievements and excellence in research.
The following categories awards were Most Regular Student Award, Budding Researcher Award, Gender Champions Award, Best NSS Volunteer Award, Best Community Campaigner Award, Cocurricular Excellence Award, Eco-warrior Award, etc. The faculty members who developed Blended Learning Courses under the Commonwealth of Learning project were also facilitated by the EdTech Award.
Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson MIER said that the college continues to make strides in shaping the future leaders of tomorrow by fostering a holistic approach to education that not only focuses on academic achievements but also encourages personal growth and societal contributions.
Prof. Rahul Gupta highlighted that MIER College has, in a true sense, implemented NEP 2020 and is bridging the gap between theory and practice. Prof. Gupta said practical knowledge is more important than theoretical knowledge, which is crucial for stepping into the world of work. He also praised the infrastructure and use of educational technology at MIER College by the students and faculty members. A memento was presented to the chief guest as a token of appreciation.
Prof. Rohnika Sharma, HoD School of Education, presented a formal vote of thanks to the guests, achievers, faculty members and students on the occasion. The programme was well coordinated and compered by Komal Sharma, Convener, Co-curricular committee of the college.
