JAMMU, May 4: The co-curricular Committee of MIER College of Education organized the Annual Prize Distribution Function, here yesterday.
Dr Arun K. Gupta, Chairperson MIER Group of Institutions was the chief guest, while Dr Renu Gupta, Vice Chairperson MIER was the guest of honour.
Dr Adit Gupta, Principal and Director MIER, Dr NR Sharma, Dean Academics, Dr Rohinka Sharma HOD UG, Dr Annie Koul QAO along with the faculty and the students of MIER College of Education attended the event.
Earlier, Dr Adit Gupta presented welcome address.
A slide show on the theme “Co-curricular Activities at a Glance 2016-18” was shown on the occasion, which was followed by a Solo dance performance by Padma Dolkar student of B.Ed 2nd Semester and a nostalgic gazal was presented by Aksa Chaman student of B.Ed Spl 2nd Semester. During the function, awards, medals and certificates were given to the students who excelled in different activities in the college and outside including sports events during the session.
Among the awardees were the best NSS volunteers, best students in Co-Curricular Activities, best students of M.Ed, MA, B.Ed and B.Ed Spl, most regular students and winners of Poster/Painting competition, Debate competition, quiz Competition, etc. In addition, students who were winners in “Resurgence 2018” at SMVDU were also given the trophies for winning two first prizes in Group dance and Play and a Second prize for Solo dance performance.
In all, 150 certificates and 25 medals were awarded to the students.
Dr Renu Gupta, Chairperson MIER congratulated the faculty and the students for great achievements.
Komal Sharma, Incharge Co-curricular Committee presented formal vote of thanks.
