JAMMU, Sept 3: Shanti Gupta Centre for Women Studies (SGCWS), MIER, commemorated the Women Equality Day by organizing a symposium on the theme “Women’s equality, a myth or reality”.
Dr Renu Gupta, Principal and Director, MIER, presided over the function, while Dr Surinder Kaur, Controller of Examination, HoDs, staff and students were also present.
Dr Surinder Kaur presented the welcome address and congratulated the CWS for organizing the event.
Participants from BEd and MEd departments spoke on various sub themes related to the issue of women equality and highlighted their roles in the society in general, in politics, in business, etc, followed by discussion.
Dr Renu Gupta in her address said that it is important to celebrate the day because gender should not be limiting factor in one’s ability to serve the nation.
The programme was conducted by Monika Rathore, who also presented the vote of thanks.
