MIER beats Kaluchak in Chess quarter final, BSF Paloura defeats APS Domana in Badminton

JAMMU, July 26: Inter School District Level Competitions of District Jammu and District Kathua in various disciplines began today at MA Stadium Indoor Complex, Jammu and Sports Stadium, Kathua, respectively.
The competitions are being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports under the chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports Jammu.
In all 150 boys drawn from Govt./ Pvt. Institutions of District Jammu are taking part in the competitions. The main objective of these competitions is to select the teams in these disciplines for the upcoming competitions i.e. Inter District Division Level competitions.
At Jammu, the competitions of chess and badminton for Under -17 Boys were declared open by Sukh Dev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu in a simple and well attended function while at Kathua, the competitions in the disciplines of Speedball and Taekwando for Under -19 Boys were declared open by Sunil Kumar, DYSSO Kathua.
Results for Jammu: In quarter finals of Chess, Ishan of MIER beats Kanaw of APS Kaluchak, Sahil of BSF Paloura defeats Shubum of APS Miran Sahib, Anuj of DBN thrashes Nitin of MIER and Virender Singh of KC Public School beats Nitin Koul of APS Domana.
In quarter finals of Badminton, APS Kaluchak beat MIER by (2-0) set, BSF Paloura defeats APS Domana by (2-0) set, SRML thrashes JK Public School Kunjwani by (2-0) set and APS Jammu Cantt beats Jankinath HSS by (2-0) set.
Result for Kathua: In Speedball, Raman Kumar of SMS Haripur won solo event, Atin Khajuria of DPS Rajbagh and Salwan Singh Baloria of Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar won single event while double event was won by Rahul Sharma and Ravishu Khajuria of Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar. Meanwhile, team of SMS Haripur comprising Shubham Khajuria, Raman Kumar, Mohit Sharma and Arun Sharma won Relay event in speedball.
In Taekwando, Arun Kumar of RSJN Kathua won below 46 kg title, Vineet Kumar of DAV Kathua lifted below 50 kg title, Abhishek of Little Angle Kathua excelled in below 54 kg, Amaninder Singh of Little Angel excelled in below 58 kg, Sanjay Sharma of Manu Shiksha Rajbagh stood first in below 66 kg and Pushap Kant Sharma of CMP Dyalachack lifted the title of plus 70 kg.
