MGCA sails into semi-final of Patriots Cup

JAMMU, May 1: Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) defeated Game Changer Cricket Club (GCCC) with a margin of 70 runs to book a semi final slot, in the ongoing Patriots Cup (50 Overs) One-Day Cricket Tournament being played at Country Cricket Stadium, Gharota, Jammu.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, the MGCA batsmen Samarpit Raina and Saryhak put up 21 and 20 each to give a safe opening stand. They were later joined by Neeraj Yadav who made 49. Suryansh Raina added 24 and Sampark Gupta made 21. The batting side could reach 172 runs by the 35th over of the inning.
On Game Changer’s side, Sachin Kumar scalped 5 wickets and the tail trimmed by Abhinav who got 3 while Shantanu and Hisham got one each.
The Game Changer’s Batting was disastrous as they were all out on a total of 102 runs in 20 overs with Satish making 43, Sidhant 14 and Puneet 17.
MGCA bowlers Sahil got 3 wickets, Sampark Gupta got 3 wickets and Pranav Mahajan got 2. Rajeev also got 1 wicket.
Tomorrow, the first semifinal between Bhatia Cricket Club and JCC shall be played.
