JAMMU, May 1: Department of Youth Services and Sports organised Athletic Meet for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls of Hiranagar Zone at Sports Stadium Hiranagar.
The competitions are being organised under the directions of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Shobha Billawaria and under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Office, Yog Raj Sharma.
A total of 175 athletes of Hiranagar Zone participated in today’s events wherein Diljaan Singh of Sai International School Hiranagar, Kabir Das of Government Middle School Marheen, Saurav Singh of Government Middle School Chhan Khatrian and Sahil Singh of SRM Chakra secured first position in 100, 200, 400 and 600 metre race respectively in boys Under-14 category.
However, in High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put and Discus Throw, Vansh Kumar of Middle School Jandi, and Ali Mohammed of Middle School Kattal Brahmana got Gold Medals.
In boys Under-17 category, Maskeen Ali of Government Higher Secondary School Hiranagar, Raghuveer Sharma of High School Chadwal, Yuvraj Singh of Higher Secondary School Chakra, Atul Verma and Abhay Singh of Public Model Higher Secondary School Hiranagar and Abhishek Sidra of Bharatiya Vidya Mandir Hiranagar secured first position in 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 3000 metre race respectively.
In High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw and Javelin Throw, Maskeen Ali of Higher Secondary School Hiranagar, Raghuveer Sharma of Shastri Memorial Haripur, Hardik Chalotra of Infant Jesus Higher Secondary School Hiranagar, Abhishek Mathur of Higher Secondary School Chakra and Amit Singh of Higher Secondary School Hiranagar bagged Gold Medals respectively.
These competitions were officiated by Ganesh Das, Dharampal, Avnesh Kumar, Narendra Chaudhary, Subhash Chaudhary, Omkar Singh, Sunita Sharma, Kunti Devi, Raj Karni, Amarjeet Kaur, Manjeet Kour, Naresh Kumar and Anju Devi.
