MGCA outplays JRS in 3-match series

JAMMU, Nov 14: Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) defeated Jammu Rising Stars (JRS) in a close contest by 6 wickets in the first match of the 3-match series at MGCA ground, here today.
The series is being held under the supervision of Academy’s coach, Sunil Kumar.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Jammu Rising Stars scored a fighting total of 149 runs in the stipulated 25 overs. Tushar was the top scorer with 46 runs, while Arjun Parth contributed 33 runs to the total. Sachin and Arya Schivansh were the other two notable contributors, who scored 26and 20 runs respectively. For MGCA, Arin Sharma was the most successful bowler, who took 3 important wickets, while Nityam and Akshit bagged 2 wickets each and and Chandan claimed one.
In reply, MGCA achieved the target in 23.4 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Sarthak Peshin played a brilliant innings of 70 runs, while Aryan Dogra and Arin Sharma contributed 34 and 26 runs to the total respectively. For Jammu Rising Stars, Praful Dhar, Tushar and Nalin claimed one wicket each. Sarthak Peshin was adjudged man of the match for his superb knock.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Nitin as umpires, while Ajay was the scorer.
