POONCH, Nov 25: The Mendhar Sports Festival 2024, organized by Mendhar Battalion under the Bhimber Gali Brigade and Ace of Spades Division, concluded with a grand finale that left an indelible impact on the hearts and minds of the local community near the Line of Control (LoC). The event celebrated the vibrant culture, athletic talent, and aspirations of the people of Mendhar.
The finale was graced by Major General Kaushik Mukherjee, GOC 25 Infantry Division, and Brigadier Rahul Kumar, Commander Bhimber Gali Brigade, who praised the community’s enthusiasm and emphasized the importance of such events in fostering unity and bridging the gap between the Army and the local population.
Spanning 18 days, the festival featured competitions like Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, and Stone Lifting, with over 40 teams participating. A major highlight was the first-ever Mendhar Mini Marathon, drawing over 300 participants. The event also included cultural performances, an Army Dog Show, and an Ex-Servicemen Meet, fostering camaraderie.
