PULWAMA, Nov 9: 14th District Hockey Championship for Mehjoor Memorial Cup 2014 was organized by Victor Sports Club Pulwama under the aegis of Hockey J&K and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council started, here.
On the first day the matches of sub junior category were played.
The first match was played between Saadi Kids Public School Pulwama and Al Habeeb Public School Pulwama, which was won by Saadi Kids by 2 goals.
In another match played between Young Star Club Pulwama and Government Middle School Ratnipora, wherein Middle School Ratnipora won the match by 2 goals. Aadil and Junaid scored 2 goals each.
In the final match played between Saadi Kids and Middle School Ratnipora, Saadi Kids won the match by a solitary goal.
The tournament was played at Sports Stadium Pulwama.
Victor Sports Club has been organizing the championship since 1998.
