8th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Championship

JAMMU, Nov 15: Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu, Sukhdev Cricket Academy and Vridhi Royals Cricket Club registered wins against their opponents in the league matches in the ongoing 8th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Championship, being organized by Senior Cricketers of J&K and Members of ICA in association with KC Sports Club and supported by Horizon Club, Game Changer Sports Club, Samar Sports Club, Vridhi Royals and JK Service Station Rajouri at KC Sports Club cricket ground here.
In the first match, Media-XI trounced star studded Shining Star Doda by 15 runs.
Batting first, Media-XI led by skipper Vivek Suri scored 149 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Faheem Tak, Amit and Sunil were the main scorers who made 33, 23 and 21 runs respectively.
From bowling side, Abhay took 3 wickets, while Musa clinched 2 wickets. Hisham and Muzamil took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Shining Star Doda could not chase the target and scored 134 runs by losing 8 wickets in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 15 runs. Hisham scored 32 runs, while Karan made 22 runs and Anmol made 17 runs.
From Media-XI side, Rahul took 3 wickets, Yash scalped 2 wickets. Vivek Suri and Faheem Tak shared 1 wicket each.
Faheem Tak was declared as Man of the Match.
In another match, Sukhdev Cricket Academy defeated Samba XI by 4 wickets. Batting first, Samba XI scored 87 runs by losing all the wickets. Kana Saini made 35 runs, while Amaan scored 13 runs and Kaka chipped in 12 runs.
From bowling side, Yudhveer and Hrithik took 4 wickets each while Saksham and Sunil shared 1 wicket apiece.
In reply, Sukhdev Academy chased the target in 12.1 over by losing 6 wickets. Hrithik scored 26 runs and Ashank made 13 runs.
From bowling side, Raman and Kaka took 2 wickets each while Binny scalped 1 wicket.
Hrithik was declared as Man of the Match.
In one more match, Vridhi Royals Cricket Club defeated Vishal Cricket Club by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Vishal Cricket Club scored 118 runs for the loss of all wickets in 18 overs match. Rakesh Koul played a splendid inning of 60 runs and Rohan Gill made 10 runs.
From the bowling side, Gourav took 5 important wickets, Archit Mahajan took 2 wickets while Sannat and Sachin shared 1 wicket each.
In the second inning, Vridhi Royals chased the target in 12.3 overs by losing 2 wickets thus won the match by 8 wickets. Smarpit played a magnificent inning of 57 runs, while Anshul scored 28 runs and Arya made 22 runs.
From the bowling side, Mannu and Rohan Gill took 1 wicket each.
Gourav was declared as Man of the Match for his great bowling spell.
Another match between Horizon Sports Eleven and Mayank Cricket Academy was stopped after the completion of 15.5 overs due to the rain and at that stage Horizon XI was at 95 runs for 3 wickets.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, JD Singh, Vijay Dhar, Sabastian and Sanju.
The executive organizing members including Rajesh Gill, Arjun Choudhary, Ashish Singh and Rakesh Koul were present on the occasion and decided that Horizon Sports Eleven and Mayank Cricket Academy will be replayed tomorrow. Another match between Samar Cricket Club and Samba Cricket Eleven will also be played tomorrow, informed Rajesh Gill Coordinator of the event.
