Media XI registers 7 run win over Parade Club in nail biting match

JAMMU, May 8: Media XI Jammu defeated Parade Cricket Club by 7 runs in a nail biting cricket match which was played at Forest Ground Sidhra here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, Media XI Jammu led by Captain Vivek Suri scored 199 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Media XI started on a brisk note as their opening pair of Amit Kumar and Dr Satyankar contributed 43 runs in 4 overs before Amit departed after playing a cameo of 33 runs in 20 balls.
Dr Satyankar was ably supported by Raghav and they kept the momentum in scoring the runs at a brisk rate.
Raghav departed at 15. A little cameo of 26 runs in 13 balls by Neeraj and 31 runs in 19 balls by Pawan followed by brilliant 61 in 46 ball by Dr Satyankar took the score of Media XI to 199 in stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.
For Parade CC, Chandu was the pick of bowlers who took 3 wickets whereas Sonu, Dileep and Arun shared one wicket each.
In reply, PCC started the chase at a blistering note with their Captain Bobby played some big shots. Neeraj got the break through by cleaning up Boby who was looking dangerous .Vivek Suri got another breakthrough in the next over. But in form Amtiyaz gave tough time to Media XI bowlers.
Media XI bowlers kept the pressure on PCC batsmen and their game plan worked and Amtiyaz was out on well made 43. In the end 200 runs was a tough task and PCC was all out in 19.4 over for 192 runs.
For Media XI, Neeraj took 4 wickets, Ankush and Vivek Suri shared 2 wickets each while Shubham took 1 wicket.
