JAMMU, July 29: Media -XI Cricket club trounced Aircel-XI by a margin of 24 runs in a friendly match played at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today.
After winning toss, Media-XI team led by skipper Mir Imran elected to bat first and made 143 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Amit Sudan made 20 runs off 15 balls, while Faheem Tak scored 20 runs in 22 balls. Ranjit Singh also chipped in 13 runs.
For Aircel-XI side, Rakesh Singh Jamwal took 3 wickets in 4 over spell, while Ajay Jamwal scalped 2 wickets in 4 overs. Sahil Sharma, Mandeep Singh and Ajay Jamwal pocketed one wicket each in their 2 overs’ spell.
Chasing the target, Aircel-XI, led by Rakesh Singh Jamwal could make only 119 run, thus losing the match to Media-XI CC by a margin of 24 runs. Kewal Kotwal scored a highest 20 runs in 16 balls for his team while Anand Tripathi made 17 runs in 20 balls.
Ranjeet Singh from Media-XI grabbed 3 wickets in 4 overs’ spell while Ashu Kumar and Rahul Khatri scalped 2 wickets apiece in their two overs’ spell.
Ranjeet Singh was adjudged as “Man of the Match” for his overall performance.
On the occasion, Media-XI vowed for promoting sports and initiating a movement against drug menace, which is ruining the future of younger generation.
