MCA to decide on election date on Aug 12

Mumbai, Aug 6:
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is expected to announce the date of its biennial elections on August 12 at its managing committee meeting here.
MCA president Ravi Savant had earlier said that the date for the elections would be decided in the managing committee meeting, which was scheduled for today.
But today’s meeting was put off to Monday, according to Joint Secretary Dr P V Shetty.
As per the MCA’s memorandum of rules and regulations the announcement needs to be made 44 days prior to the election date, and could now be held not before September 24.
Union Agriculture Minister, Sharad Pawar has expressed his desire to return as president, Savant had said. (PTI)
