JAMMU, Nov 20: Beating Maharaja Ranjit Singh Hockey Club (MRSHC) RS Pura by four goals to two (4-2) in the summit clash, MBS Hockey Club, Makhanpur Simbal won the title trophy of the 1st Gurdeep Singh Memorial 5-a-side Night Hockey Tournament, organized by Hockey J&K at High School Simbal Camp, here.
The first goal was scored by Ramandeep Singh of MBS in the 6th minute, while Shivam Sharma from MRSHC scored an equalizer in the 9th minute. Ramnik Singh scored another goal in 13th minute to make it 2-1 in favour of MRSHC in the first half.
In the 2nd half, the players of MBS Club showed extraordinary hockey skills and scored back to back goals in 25th, 32nd and 38th minutes through Karamjeet Singh, Satwant Singh and Jarnail Singh and won the match by (4-2).
Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, Member Legislative Council was the chief guest, while transporter Gajan Singh was the guest of honour.
The winners were presented a cash prize of Rs 5100 and a trophy, while the runners-up received a cash prize of Rs 3100. Harsimran Singh was declared as man of the tournament, who was presented a cash prize of Rs 1100 and memento.
The matches were officiated by Manjeet Singh, Charanjeet Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Parshotam Verma, Harsheet Singh and Tanveer Singh.
The Tournamnet was held under the overall supervision of Jaspreet Singh Jimmy, organizing secretary.
