JAMMU, Jan 2: Manya, who is a member of the Gymnastics team from Jammu and Kashmir, was warmly welcomed today in Bishnah after her remarkable success in the Junior National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship held recently in Bengaluru. She secured gold and a silver medal in the competition.
Five gold, one silver, and two bronze medals were won by the J&K team at Junior National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, where Manya took home two medals including one gold and silver and brought laurels to the Union Territory.
She was received by a large number of people at Bishnah. “Manya is the role model for youngsters. I want the youth of Bishnah to take inspiration from her achievements and take up sports as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opened new avenues in this field,” BJP leader Ashwani Sharma said during the occasion.
“My goal is to win a medal in the Olympics, but so far my journey remained smooth despite difficult obstacles during the competition. I was able to reach this milestone with the help of my coaches and the blessings of friends, family and locals, Manya said.
