Manay, Hargun (Jr) crush rivals, lift Cadet Boys, Cadet Girls titles

JAMMU, Oct 12: Manay Mansotra and Hargun (Jr) crushed their rivals and lifted Cadet Boys and Cadet Girls titles respectively in the Jammu District Table Tennis Championship, which concluded today at Table Tennis Hall, Indoor Complex, MA Stadium here.
Manay Mansotra defeated Rohan Langer by 3-1 sets, whileas Iknoor beat Hargun (Jr.) by straight 3-0 sets.
In Sub Junior Girls, Hargun (Sr.) registered win over Meghna Jain by 3-1 sets and bagged the title, whereas in Sub Junior Boys, Hanumant Sharma emerged winner by defeating Akhil Khajuria by straight 3-0 sets.
In Junior Boys, Manandeep beat Ritvik Gupta by 3-0 sets and pocketed the title, whereas in Junior Girls, Jhanvi Pandoh smashed Shreya by 3-1 sets and claimed the title.
In Youth Boys, Manandeep crushed Ritvik Gupta by 3-0 sets and bagged the title trophy, whereas in Men Singles, Dheeraj Arora (RBI) outplayed Jayesh (MBS College) by 4-1 sets and pocketed the title trophy.
In Women Singles, Jhanvi Pandoh beat Shazar Sharma by straight 3-0 sets and claimed the title trophy, whereas in Veteran Singles, AK Verma defeated Anil Abrol by 3-1 sets and lifted the title trophy.
On the valedictory function, SK Sharma, Executive Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Northern Region-II Jammu was the chief guest, who distributed prizes amongst the winners and the runner-ups in presence of AK Pal, General Manager, Power Grid Corporation and Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, who were guests of honour on the occasion.
Among others present were VK Magoo, Working President JKTTA, Ajay Sharma, General Secretary JKTTA, Sheetal Gandotra, Sanjeev Gupta, Vishal Abrol, SP Singh, Satbir Singh and Narinder Singh.
The final matches, played today were officiated by Satish Gupta, Meenu, Narinder Kour (SAI Coach) and Sandeep.
