Srinagar, July 30:A man from Reasi travelled on cycle to reach Srinagar to meet National Conference chief, Dr Farooq Abdullah, however, he was not allowed to meet him initially.
Man who identified himself as Muneer Ahmad left his home in Reasi a week ago and took him four days to reach Srinagar, but to his utter dismay, after reaching the residence of Dr Farooq, the security personnel did not allow him to enter.
“I have been coming here for the last 3 days after reaching Srinagar, but the guards are not allowing me to meet him; there is a personal issue that I want to bring into the notice of Doctor Sahib and for the last three days, I am coming here regularly but to avail,” he said.
He said that he is an NC worker and that his family has been voting for the NC for decades.
However, when his videos went viral on social media platforms, he was finally allowed to meet Dr Farooq at his residence.
While interacting with Muneer, Dr Farooq said, “I am touched to meet Munner, a young and promising youth from Reasi. I am profoundly thankful to him for his unique gesture. It is this love and affection that keeps me going; the physiological underpinning behind him covering so much distance on cycle is a case in point that reveals the deep emotional connection of the people of Jammu and Kashmir with the National Conference. I pass on good wishes to him for his future endeavours,” he said.
