JAMMU, Dec 21: Government MAM College won the title for Volleyball (Men) Inter-Collegiate tournament defeating GGM Science College by 3-0 sets, organized by the Cluster University of Jammu at SPMR College of Commerce, here today.
Professor RS Jamwal, Principal SPMR College of Commerce was the chief guest of the final match.
The today’s first match was played between SPMR College of Commerce and Govt. MAM College wherein latter won by 2-1 sets and entered in the finals of the tournament. The 1st set was won by MAM College by 25-15 points, while the 2nd set was clinched by SPMR College of Commerce by 25-18 and the 3rd set was secured by MAM College by 15-9.
In the finals match, the Govt. MAM College locked horns with GGM Science College in which Govt. MAM College trounced the opponent team by 3-0 sets (25-3, 25-18 and 25-19). Najar Singh and Aryan Sudan played outstanding game for Govt MAM College, while Mandeep Charak also played very well for GGM Science College.
The tournament was played under the supervision of Aijaz Malik, Physical Director SPMR College of Commerce and under the overall supervision of Dr Vinod Bakshi, Sports Coordinator CLUJ.
Prof Shafkat Jahagir (Convenor Sports Committee SPMR College of Commerce), Barbara Koul, Prof Sandhya Bhardwaj, Prof Archana Koul, Dr Roopali Slathia, Physical Director GCW Gandhi Nagar College and Neenu Sawhney, Physical Director MAM College were also present during the final event.
The matches were officiated by Mulkh Raj, Amit Kumar, Parminder Singh and Neha Bhagat.
