JAMMU, Mar 28: Apni Party State general secretary Vikram Malhotra has been nominated as chairman of J&K Amateur Powerlifting Association.
He was nominated in a function organized at Babey Caterers, Rehari in which members of J&K Amateur Powerlifting Association affiliated with World Raw Powerlifting Federation and Global Powerlifting Alliance and others assembled.
In this programme, they unanimously nominated Vikram Malhotra as chairman of J&K Amateur Powerlifting Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra thanked the organizers and appreciated their services to promote sportsmanship.
“Participation of youth in such activities would boost the healthy society and we can create a society with no place for drug addiction,” he said.
He said that “The Govt should encourage such organizations and NGOs which want to protect the society from drug addiction and encourage participation of the youth in sports activities. The anti-social and anti-national elements have played with the future of J&K and such organizations have tried their best in protecting the young generation.”
He said that the Govt should announce special programmes and promotions of these organizations for the benefit of all the sections of the society particularly youth including women with introduction of such activities at school, college and university levels.
“We have to root out this evil (drug addiction) from society to make it better for the future generation,” he said.
On this occasion, SP North Kulbir Handa was the Chief Guest, SHO Harjeet Singh, Kanav, Guest of Honour was Dr Gunit (President), Harman Singh, (Senior Vice president) Pankaj Dutta (General Secretary), Rahul Kohli, Secretary Aslam Kohli, Joint Secretary Advocate Jyotsana Ved, Gundeep Singh Goni, Joint Secretary, Hukkam Chand and others.
