Majority of top seeds lead after two rounds

JAMMU, Sept 22:  Most of the top seeds were leading after 2 rounds in 41st National Sub Junior Chess Tournament, being organized by All J&K Chess Association at Jalsa Retreat, Domana, here.
Vaishali R. and Inian P of Tamilnadu are top seeds in this event.
184 players (including 77 girls) alongwith 150 coaches and managers are participating in this historic event in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Twenty five players are participating from J&K State. The J&K State Sports Council is the main sponsor of one of the biggest sports extravaganza in Chess ever held in J&K.
Four players from boys section and one from girls section of this event will be selected for world youth Olympiad (U-16) to represent India. They will be sent for exposure trips of Spain and Moscow by All India Chess Federation.
Today’s matches were declared open by Atul Kumar Gupta, president , All J&K Chess Association and Joint Secretary, All India Chess Federation in the presence of Taranvir  Singh Gujral, vice president,Vikas Nanda, vice president and Dr AS Bhatia, Advisor to Organizing Commiittee.
Nitin Shenvi from Maharashtra is the chief Arbiter of this event. He is supported by 6 deputy arbiters from Assam, Tamilnadu, Rajasthan and J&K.
“Top games are displayed live on internet. Special expert in Live Internet Games, Anand Babu from Chennai is managing  Live games Infra. Total 11 rounds will be played under Swiss League System in this event. All the players appreciated the arrangements made by All J&K Chess Association,” informed Mr Atul.
