JAMMU, Jan 7: Lupin Ltd XI defeated YCC in an easy contest by 5 wickets in the ongoing 3rd Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Winning the toss and batting first, YCC scored a paltry total of 82 runs in 17overs. Nittin top scored with 24 runs, while Surender contributed 22 runs to the total. Kamalpreet and Raghav Sharma chipped in with13 and unbeaten 10 runs respectively. For Lupin Ltd, Aditya was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Joshi and Radheysham took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Lupin Ltd, Jammu scored the required runs in 18 overs by losing 5 wickets thus won the match by 5 wickets. Pravesh and Vishal scored 18 runs each, while Tilak contributed 10 runs. Surender took 2 wickets, while Nitin and Raghav claimed one wicket each for YCC. Aditya of Lupin Ltd was declared as man of the match.
Meanwhile, in Under-16 Boys Jammu Budding T20 Cup, Atharav Cricket Club defeated Rising Star Cricket Club by 3 wickets in close contest.
Winning the toss and batting first, Rising Star Cricket Club scored 92 runs in 20 overs. Ritvik top scored with 32 runs, while Aditya contributed 19 runs to the total. For Atharav Cricket Club, Rhythm was the pick of the bowlers, who bagged 4 important wickets, while Kanav claimed 2.
In reply, Atharav Club chased the target in 17 overs by losing 7 wickets, thus won the match by 3 wickets. Rhythm top scored with 19 runs, while Nitish contributed 17 runs to the total. Aarush and Kanav chipped in with 10 runs each. For Rising Star Cricket Club, Yugon, Molik and Tushar claimed one wicket each. Rhythm Mahajan was declared as man of the match.
