JAMMU, Mar 31: Promising batsman Sahil Lotra guided Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) to defeat Sehwag Cricket Academy by a huge margin of 110 runs in the ongoing Rigour Cup 50-Over Cricket Tournament, being organized by Country Cricket Academy at its Gharota Stadium, here today.
Earlier, Sehwag Cricket Academy elected to field after winning the toss.
Put into bat, MGCA scored a good total of 251 runs in 49.2 overs. Sahil Lotra played a brilliant innings of 88 runs, while Sahil Mahotra contributed valuable 40 runs. Nitesh Jamwal also played a good knock of 34 runs, while Akhil Choudhary and Kunal Chib contributed 18 runs each. Robin Singh also chipped in with 15 runs. For Sehwag Academy, Jaipal, Harman and Yudhmanyu took 2 wickets each.
Sehwag Cricket Academy, in reply bundled out for 141 runs in 29.3 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin. Rohit emerged as the top scorer with 41 runs, while Manik and Kartik 30 and 17 runs respectively. For MGCA, Sahil and Nityam claimed 2 wickets each, while Akhil and Nitesh got one wicket each. Sahil Lotra was declared as the man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
