JAMMU, Apr 1: Outplaying Paradise XI by 8 wickets in the summit clash, Legal A Star lifted the cricket title trophy of the Lawyers Annual Sports Meet, organized by J&K Bar Association Jammu, here.
Winning the toss and batting first, Paradise XI scored 84 runs in 20 overs. Legal ‘A’ Star chased the target in 11 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Azhar Usman Khan was adjudged as the player of the tournament, while Sherhoz, Samiullah and Sanjay Sharma were declared as the best bowler, best batsman and man of the match respectively.
Kuldeep and Kapil were the umpires, while Ashok Singh and Ajay Patyal were the scorers.
Bawa Ditta was adjudged the best athlete in men’s category, while Sneha Sharma was the best athlete in women’s category.
The Volleyball final was won by Maveric Club led by captain Bawa Ditta.
On the valedictory function, Acting Chief Justice, Ramalingam Sudhakar was the chief guest and Justice Alok Ardhe, Justice Sanjeev Kumar and Vice Chancellor of university of Jammu, Prof RD Sharma were the guests of honour.
While speaking on the occasion, Acting Chief Justice said that the Bar Association should make efforts to organize such meets in the future also.
President of the Bar Association, Jammu B.S. Slathia while speaking on the occasion that said that Bar has been organising the sports activities since last 10 years.
Sachin Gupta, Vice President of the Bar, presented the vote of thanks, while the General Secretary of the Bar, Prem Sadotra conducted the proceedings of the function.
