Laxmi Cricket Club crushes Spartan CC by 10 wkts

JAMMU, Oct 21: Laxmi Cricket Club thrashed Spartan Cricket Club by 10 wickets in a one-sided affair of the ongoing Ball Buster Cricket Tournament, being organized by Aditi Welfare India Charitable Trust, under the overall supervision of its chairman, Aditi Sharma at Parade ground, here.
Sixteen teams drawn from District Jammu and adjoining districts are taking part in this cricketing extravaganza.
Earlier, batting first, minnows Spartan Cricket Club bundled out for a paltry total of 57 runs in 14.5 overs. All the batsmen failed to deliver and none of them could give a recognized contribution. From Laxmi Cricket Club, young medium pacer Yogesh Sikka was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 important wickets, while skipper Dhruv Mahajan and Bharat took 2 wickets each and Amandeep Singh claimed one wicket.
In reply, riding on a magnificent half-century (52)  by Bansi Lal, Laxmi Cricket Club chased the target in just 4.5 overs without any loss, thus won the match by 10 wickets. Anuj was another opening batsman, who contributed 5 runs to the total. Bansi Lal was in sublime form, hitting 11 crispy boundaries in his power-packed 22-ball knock. He simply butchered the rival bowlers with ease and class.
The match was officiated by Saleem-Ur-Rehmaan and Sadiq Hussain Malik as umpires, while Ashok Singh was the scorer.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Metro Cricket Club will lock horns with KCC Bhalessa at 11 am.
