JAMMU, Jan 9: Laxmi Cricket Club registered a commanding 262-run victory over Sunrise Warriors Cricket Club in the ongoing Rajinder Saini & Sandeep Singh Memorial Under-16 (T-30) Cricket Tournament at Parade Ground, here today.
After winning the toss, Laxmi Cricket Club opted to bat first and put up a mammoth total of 332 runs for the loss of just three wickets in the allotted 30 overs. Tanseef Yousaf delivered a sensational batting performance, scoring a brilliant 153 runs off 75 balls, which included seven sixes and 21 boundaries.
He was well supported by Gurtaj Singh, who remained unbeaten on 96 runs, smashing one six and 14 boundaries. For Sunrise Warriors, Kanish Mahajan claimed two wickets, while Eklavya picked up one.
In reply, Sunrise Warriors failed to cope with Laxmi’s disciplined bowling attack and were bundled out for a mere 70 runs in 17.5 overs. Dishneet emerged as the star bowler for Laxmi Cricket Club, scalping five wickets for just 20 runs in his five-over spell.
With dominant performances in both batting and bowling, Laxmi Cricket Club sealed an emphatic win. Tanseef Yousaf was adjudged the Player of the Match for his outstanding knock. Tomorrow’s match will be played between Sahaj Cricket Club and Jammu Warriors Cricket Club.
