Kyorugi/Poomsae Taekwondo C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Aug 25: Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association organized ‘16th J&K State (Seniors) Kyorugi/ Poomsae Taekwondo Championship 2014’ and ‘5th Open J&K State Taekwondo Championship 2014’ which concluded at Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha, Parade, here.
The Championship was held under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India recognized by Jammu and Kashmir  Olympics Association, India Olympics Association, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India. Around 400 players/officials participated in the Championship.
Yogesh Shawney,  Former Minister for Sports was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking lavished praise for the organizers and the participants for successful conduct of the Championship.
D S Bisht, Deputy Commandant CRPF and Imtiaz Mir ETO Jammu were the guests of honour. Manvinder Singh, Sub Inspector Excise; Inspector Pawan Kumar and Sports Incharge CRPF Bantalab, Preet Dutta, Sher-i-Kashmir Awardee were the guests of honour.
The Championship was presided over by Master Daya Nand (International Referee) from Delhi as Observer from Taekwondo Federation of India, and Master Parmeet Talwar Chief Referee TFI.
The technical team was headed by Atul Pangotra (NIS) International Referee with his team of officials including Sanjay Kumar, Anuj Sharma (North Zone Technical Committee Member TFI), Rajat Thakur, Mukta Gupta, Brinder Singh Manhas, Rohit Sharma, Sunil Singh, Rajan Burhan-ud- Din, Zaheer Abbas Khan, Shazia Batool, Shenaz Parveen (National Referees) Rajesh Sharma, Rahul Singh Chib, Arvind Kumar Satti, Pankaj, Narinder Sharma, Nitish Anand, Tashi Tundup, Vipan Sharma (All Volunteers).
The Championship was organized under the Chairmanship D N Pangotra, general secretary, J&K Taekwondo Association.
The Championship was hosted by Sumeet Chauhan.
Jammu District emerged overall champion, Kathua and Udhampur claimed the first and second runners-up trophies respectively.
