JAMMU, Oct 28: The fifth edition of the largest sporting extravaganza within the Kashmiri Pandit community “Kashmiri Pandit Premier League (KPL)-V” is going to be held here with active support from community members, cultural societies, sports bodies and sportsmen of entire State and the volunteers of Kashyap Kashmir Sabha (KKS), Gurgaon and Kashmiri Medical Emergency and Charitable Trust (KMECT).
This was stated by Sqd Leader (Retd) BL Sadhu, Chairman, KMCET during a press conference here today. Sunil Thussu, Trustee, Kulbhushan Pandita, Senior General Manager Sales, Alcobrew Distilleries Private Limiter, New Delhi and Horizon Broadcast LLP, Ram Krishan, Skipper, KCC and Sonu, Skipper, SCC.
Sadhu informed that in this fifth edition of the Tournament to be played here, 16 teams will play and the teams, who will reach semis in this tourney at Jammu will take on with the semifinalists of first edition, which was held at Gurgaon.
The tournament will commence from the first week of November and will concluded on December 24 or 25, he said, adding that young children will perform a special cultural on December 24 evening where all the participating teams and community members in large numbers will participate.
Apart from winning and runner-up trophies, Man of the Match, player of the tournament, best batsman, best bowler, best fielder, best wicketkeeper, maximum catches taker, maximum sixes hitter and upcoming player awards will also be presented, Sadhu informed.
During the press conference, the officer bearers of Alcobrew Distilleries Private Limited, New Delhi presented Rs 5 lakh cheque to KMECT.
