JAMMU, May 30: The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, Jammu, today organised its 16th consecutive function to honour meritorious students of the community who excelled in the Class XII examinations conducted by CBSE and JKBOSE this year.
Students securing 95 per cent and above marks were presented certificates, mementoes and cash prizes. The awards were distributed by chief guest Sat Sharma, Member of Rajya Sabha and BJP President, Jammu and Kashmir, along with K K Khosa, President of the Sabha.
A total of 24 students were honoured, including Tejal Pandita, Chetna Pandita, Deepanshu Bhat, Ritika Tickoo, Sumit Pandita, Ashmita Raina, Umang, Laksh Raina, Tiana Raina, Arushi Najawan, Aakanksha Bhat, Vansh Bhat, Piyush Bhat, Shivesh Pandita, Bhanavi Kapoor, Saksham Dhar, Tanish Koul, Alka Kaul, Kartikaye Pandit, Vidushee Bhat, Punnerva Chrungoo, Aryan Raina and Shriya Handu. K K Khosa also honoured Sat Sharma with a bouquet and shawl.
Congratulating the students, Khosa urged them to contribute towards the welfare of the community and society and explore opportunities in higher education, research, entrepreneurship and public service within Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma lauded the students’ achievements and advised them to pursue their goals with dedication and perseverance. He also appreciated the efforts of the Kashmiri Pandit community in preserving its cultural heritage despite decades of displacement from the Valley.
Among those present were Deepak Dhar, Ashwani Koul, G J Kampasi, Rajinder Tiku, Subash Dhar, Prof R K Ganjoo, Jitender Parimoo, Dr Usha Tickoo, V K Bakshi, Nimi Braroo, Dr Sujata Sathu, V K Mukhi, Satish Khoda, Bharat Bushan Gosaini and A K Braroo. The vote of thanks was presented by S L Bagati, while the proceedings were conducted by Asha Kitchloo.
