Kichloo for coordinated efforts to make event grand success

SRINAGAR, June 19: Minister of State for Tourism, Home and Industries and Commence Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today convened a high-level meeting and finalized arrangements for 4th Mughal Road Rally commencing from June 28.
During the meeting arrangements for the safety and contingency of the rally including security, road clearance, convoy movement, health and emergency services were discussed threadbare to make the rally incident free and a grand success.
It was informed that the Army would conduct the ROP in advance and secure all identified routes.
On June 28, under Leg 1 (Extreme) the rally will pass from Srinagar-Pulwama-Shopian-Dubjan-Pir ki Gali-Bufliaz-Shopian-Srinagar, whereas under Leg-1 (Enduro) the rally will pass through Srinagar-Pampore-Pulwama-Shopian-Dubjan-Pir ki Gali-Bafliaz-Thanna Mandi-Rajouri-Akhnoor-Jammu.
Similarly, on 29th June under Leg 2 (Extreme) the rally will pass through Srinagar, Khanabal, Qazigund, Veerinag, Kokernag, Daksum-Sinthan Pass-Srinagar whereas under leg-2 (Enduro) the rally will pass through Jammu-Reasi-Mahore-Gool-Ramban and back to Srinagar via National Highway.
It was also stated that all road works conducted by CRPF, PWD or NCC on the days of rally will be stopped for smooth passage of the participating cars. No traffic, especially oncoming will be permitted on rally routes on the designated days of the 4th Mughal rally and only vehicles bearing stickers of the Mughal Rally will be permitted access to the sealed roads.
The meeting was informed that the army and J&K traffic police will assist in recovery of vehicles on the rally in case of any breakdown.
Two life saving trauma ambulances from Fortis Hospital Mohali will be inducted to look after any untoward incidents and will be manned by trained doctors and equipped for almost every contingency.
The prize distribution ceremony will be held at the SKICC on June 30.
Speaking on the occasion, Kichloo urged for greater coordination between the concerned departments and agencies to make the event a grand success. He said car rallies on the Mughal road via Simthan Circle will help to generative economic activities enroute the rally besides attracting large number of tourists.
