JAMMU, Sept 12: Raising pitch for joining sports as a career, BJP State General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi along with Vikram Singh, Convener State Sports Cell BJP said that sporting culture in the State has been completely transformed after the Khelo India initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was launched with influx of adequate funds and supporting expertise by the renowned sportspersons from across the country.
He said this after felicitating Grappler Rajeshwar Singh today for his selection in the Grappling World Championship 2019, which is being hosted by United World Wrestling in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Yudhvir, while applauding Rajeshwar Singh for his superlative performance in grappling sports asked youth especially those taking part in sports to take a cue from his career and bring laurels for the State and the country.
In this championship more than 60 countries from all over the world are participating.
Rajeshwar has also won gold medals in last senior national 2019 and South Asian Championship 2019.
Yudhvir asserted the sporting fraternity that there is no dearth of facilities and funds after the Narendra Modi led government has taken over the reins of the country. Vikram Singh extended best wishes to Rajeshwar and anticipated that he will give his best in the upcoming championship in Kazakhstan.
Guljinder Singh, General Secretary of Grappling Association of J&K also lauded the efforts of Rajeshwar Singh for his achievements.
