JAMMU, Aug 1: Outplaying Junoon Cricket Club in the summit clash by 4 wickets, Khalsa Cricket Club lifted the title trophy of the Bhalwal Premier League Cosco Ball Cricket Tournament played at Bhalwal Cricket ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, Junoon Cricket Club scored a decent total of 139 runs in the stipulated 15 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Yasin was the top scorer with 46 runs off just 24 balls, while Deepak and Azad contributed 29 and 26 runs off 22 and 15 balls respectively. For Khalsa CC, Arif took 3 wickets, while Anku claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Khalsa Club scored 140 runs in just 12.1 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Bawa top scored with 48 runs off 19 balls, studded with 4 sixes and 2 fours, while Sourav contributed 25 runs off 19 balls. For Junoon Cricket Club, Aman took 3 wickets, while Monu claimed two. For his superb batting performance, Bawa was adjudged as man of the match, while Abhi Barana was declared the man of the series for taking 13 wickets and scoring three fifties
Tehsildar Bhalwal, Vijay Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion, while SHO Gharota, Rakesh Kumar was the guest of honour, who apart from individual prizes and trophies, distributed a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 among the winners and runners-up teams respectively.
