Khalsa Academy-B wins 7-A-Side Women’s Hockey Tournament

SRINAGAR, June 17: Getting the better of Steel Plant Board Delhi by three goals to one (3-1) in the title clash, Khalsa Academy ‘B’ Amritsar won the title trophy of the Inaugural 7-A-Side Women’s Hockey Tournament-2019 (North Zone), played at Kashmir University ground, here.
Narinder Kaur of Khalsa Academy ‘B’ Amritsar was adjudged as the player of the match.
In the closing ceremony, the awards were distributed among the winners, 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up teams. Other than trophies, a cash award of Rs 15,000 was presented to winners Khalsa Academy (B), Rs 10,000 to 1st runners-up Steel Plant Board and Rs 5,000 to 2nd runners-up Khalsa Academy (A) team.
The player of the tournament award was presented to Amanpreet Kaur of Khalsa Academy (B), while emerging team award was given to DAV School Ludhiana.
On this occasion, S. Jaipal Singh, Member Public Service Commission was the chief guest, while Prof Nissar Ahmad Mir (Registrar, KU) was the guest of honour. Dr Hartej Singh, Principal College of Physical Education, Ganderbal, Dr Nissar Ahmad Khan, Coordinator Physical Education, KU were also present on the occasion.
In this tournament total 14 teams participated out of which 7 teams were from outside state. The tournament was organised by Kashmir Hockey Academy (KHA) in collaboration with Directorate of Physical Education Kashmir University and State Sports Council.
