JAMMU, Apr 9: Managing Director of KC Public School, Arti Chowdhary along with faculty members Sonia Thakur, Rachna Sharma and Deepti Thakur attended Round Square Discovery Framework (RSDF) Workshop at British School, New Delhi.
The Workshop was attended by teacher-representatives from many Round Square Schools in India and the Gulf region.
The two days’ Workshop conducted by Aimee Theodore, Head of Programme Development at Round Square Headquarters, Windsor, UK, emphasised on how to best apply Round Square Spirits and Discoveries to the curriculum to develop an awareness and understanding of the meaning of each Discovery and to engage in a collaborative discussion on the Spirit of Leadership.
It was her proven 21st century praxis session that laid stress on the imperative need for ‘Visible Thinking’ — a flexible and systematic research-based conceptual framework, which aims at integrating the development of students’ thinking with content learning across subject matters.
The Workshop offered presentation opportunities to share Good Practice Carousels.
The carousels were interspersed with structured networking including connect-and-collaborate sessions which focused on resource-sharing, academic collaboration and lesson planning.
The lesson plans designed by Rachna Sharma and Deepti Thakur of KCPS were highly appreciated.
The Workshop was an opportunity to work with teachers from other Round Square schools and offered a powerful reflection exercise providing insights into how teachers can work on inculcating good values in students in addition to academic excellence.
The hands-on praxis sessions themed around Discovery Framework to develop concept and content were highly inspiring and encouraging.
The action-research projects initiated by faculty members of KC Public School under the leadership of Principal Amarendra Mishra and with support from Chairman Raju Chowdhary and Managing Director Arti Chowdhary are now creating opportunities for KCPS teachers to get involved in global research projects and thereby enhance their pedagogical skills.
