JAMMU, Jan 29: KC Public School organized an Inter-House One-Act Fest 2014 in English at the newly-built RS Mahajan Open Air Theatre in school premises, here.
The Fest was dedicated to Marathi playwright late Vijay Tendulkar whose four plays exclusively penned for children were presented on the occasion.
Over 100 parents of the students of Middle Section of the School enjoyed an entertaining evening.
The children of Jammu House presented the touching ‘Bobby’s Story’ in which feelings and emotions of a girl-child waiting for her parents alone at home after the school are portrayed.
Kashmir House presented hilarious version of the ‘andheri nagri chuapat raja’, play of Nosey Parker in which an inept and dump ruler and his courtiers turn into the laughing stock for the public through their foolish acts and antics.
Ladakh House also presented the story of inefficient royalty with the presentation of ‘The King and Queen want Sweat’. An entire kingdom has turned so lazy that it is impossible to find even a drop of sweat the king and queen require to prepare a potion that would beget them a male heir.
Poonch House presented the play “The wedding of the village Headman’s Daughter”. It is an ironic comment on urbanization, making inroads in rural India, thereby threatening to annihilate traditions and culture.
Arti Chowdhary, Director of the Junior School watched the performance of the students with avid interest and lauded the efforts of children and the teachers for giving impetus to the movement of the theatre in English in the School.
School Principal, Amarendra Mishra presented vote of thanks.
