JAMMU, Nov 10: Thirteen CBSE affiliated schools of Jammu and neighbouring towns took part in the 6th Edition of the Inter-School Mega Quiz contest hosted by KC Public School, here.
The participating schools included the host school KCPS, KC International, BSF School, APS Rakhmuthi, Heritage School, Jodhamal Public School, Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, APS Akhnoor, APS Nagrota,GD Goenka School, SOS Hermann and JP World School.
The contest was held in the multi-purpose hall of KC Sports Club which had been done up to make an apt set for this competition.
Nearly 300 students of host school and from some participating schools formed a responsive audience who cheered the teams with frequent applause.
The quiz began with an innings round in which all the 12 selected teams answered 4 questions each as parts of four pools containing three teams each. At the end of this round, one team from each pool got eliminated on the basis of lowest score. The remaining 8 teams then moved on to the quarter final stage with only 2 teams in each pool. After answering 4 questions each at this stage, 4 teams made it to the semi finals on the basis of their higher score.
KC Public School remained runners-up in the event, losing to their rirval in the final round.
Dr Vivek Arya, Associate Professor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, who gave away the running trophy to the winners and distributed certificates of participation.
In his speech, he commended all the schools for their amazing quizzing skills and congratulated the winners.
