KCCC trounces Tiger Club by 85 runs

JAMMU, Feb 22: Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) thrashed Tiger Cricket Club by a big margin of 85 runs to move into the next round of the ongoing KC Sports Club Cricket Cup at KC School ground, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, KCCC scored a decent total of 160 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Struggling at 40/4 at one stage with Vimarsh Kaw, Pradeep Bali, Shashi Kumar and Hrithik Gupta back into the pavilion, the duo of middle-order batsman Bandeep Singh and wicketkeeper batsman Raman Thaploo consolidated the innings with a brilliant partnership of 50 odd runs, to give respectability to the team’s total. Bandeep scored handsome 41 runs, Thaploo contributed valuable 25 runs to the team’s formidable total. Shashi Kumar and Sameer Khajuria also chipped in with 22 runs each, while Raman Dutta scored 14 runs. For Tiger Club, Sanjeed was the pick of the bowlers, who captured 3 important wickets.
In reply, Tiger Club collapsed at a meagre total of 75 runs, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 85 runs. Sanjeed top scored with 19 runs. For KCCC, Raman Dutta bagged 3 wickets, while Sameer Khajuria and Akash Choudhary clinched 2 wickets each. Pardeep Bali and Sahil Sharma also claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Shamsher Singh Manhas and Sandeep Manchanda as umpires, while Deepak acted as the scorer.
