KCCC Seniors, Juniors seal berth in semis

JAMMU, Apr 22 : Clinical Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) Seniors and Juniors defeated their rivals convincingly to seal berth in the semifinals of the ongoing 1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup, being played at Parade Cricket Ground here.
The Tournament is being organized by Patel Cricket Club under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), under the supervision of Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal, President Patel Cricket Club and Vijay Sharma, Secretary of the Club.
Earlier, in the Senior Group quarterfinal, KCCC defeated New Challenger Cricket Club by 5 wickets in an easy contest.
Batting first, New Challenger Cricket Club scored 104 runs in 16.3 overs. Sahil Bhalwal top scored with 26 runs, while Manjeet Singh Chib and Danish contributed 24 and 17 runs to the total respectively.
From KCCC, Manik Gupta was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets including a hat-trick, while Sawan Singh and Vishal Kumar bagged 2 wickets each and Ankush Bandral claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, KCCC scored 106 for the loss of 5 wickets in 18  overs, thus won the match by 5 wickets.
At one stage KCCC were struggling at 15/3 in 3 overs, however, useful partnerships among the quartet of Raman Thaploo, Ramdayal, Manik Gupta and Bandeep Singh took the team to home. Wicketkeeper batsman Thaploo top scored with 25 runs, while Ramdayal, Manik and Bandeep contributed 22, 17 and 16 runs respectively. From New Challengers, Danish took 2 wickets while Sunit, Rakesh Koul and Nitin Mehra claimed 1 wicket each. Manik Gupta was declared as the man of the match for his brilliant bowling show.
Meanwhile, in U-16 Group, KCCC Juniors defeated Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy by 6 wickets to enter semifinals.
Batting first, Mayank Goswami Cricket bundled out for 84 runs in 19.2 overs. Arin Sharma, Varun and Prabjot contributed 18, 16 and 16 runs runs respectively.
From bowling side, Nityam Abrol and Shavac shared 2 wickets each, while Aqib took 1 wicket.
In reply, KCCC Juniors scored 86 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 12.5 overs, thus won the match by 6 wickets.  Dikshant Kundal top scored 37 runs, while Smarpit Raina contributed 23 runs. From MGCA, Sannat, Prabhjot and Parth shared 1 wicket each. Dikshant was declared as the man of the match.
Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal, President of the Patel Cricket Club was the chief guest, who interacted with the participating teams to encourage and motivate the young cricketers.
The match was officiated by Saleem-ur- Rehman, Sadiq Hussain Malik, Amit Gupta, Vinod Kandyara, Sandeep Manchanda and Rahul Kumar, while the post match proceedings were conducted by Sohan Bharti.
In tomorrow’s fixture, KCCC Juniors will take on Stadium Juniors at 9.30 am.
