KC Sports Club to take on Horizon Club in summit clash

6th Road Safety T20 Cricket Championship

JAMMU, Jan 16: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in their respective semifinals, KC Sports Club and Horizon Cricket Club have sealed berth in the finals and will take on each other in summit clash of the ongoing 6th Road Safety T20 Cricket Championship, being organized by Transport Department Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir at Parade Ground, here.
The slogan of the Championship is “Sadak Suraksha- Jeevan Raksha”.
The Championship is being conducted under the overall supervision of Transport Commissioner, Dr Owais Ahmad, while the Coordinators of the Championship are SSP RK Bhat, Additional Secretary Road Safety Council and Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy Player.
In the first semifinal, KC Sports Club defeated Road Safety Club by 5 wickets.
Batting first, Road & Safety XI scored 74 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 12 overs. Rohit and Usmaan contributed 23 and 15 runs respectively.
From KC Sports Club, Raman Dutta, Abhinav Khajuria and Vivek took 2 wickets each, while Vicky and Sohaib claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, KC Sports Club chased the target in 9.5 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Nawaz top scored with 30 runs, while Puneet contributed 18 runs to the total. Usman took 2 wickets while Arif, RK Bhat and Dinesh claimed 1 wicket each. Raman Dutta was adjudged as the man of the match.
In second semifinal, Horizon Club defeated Singh Club Akhnoor by 40 runs.
Batting first, Horizon club scored 95 runs in the allotted 12 overs. Kashish top scored with 33 runs, while Jatin contributed 21 runs to the total. Sunil, Sunny and Rishab took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Singh Club managed to score 57 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Rakesh and Sunny were the only two batsmen to cross double figure mark, scoring 11 and 10 runs respectively. Sawan, Imran and Sukhjinder took 2 wickets each while Tanmay, Piyush and Ashish claimed 1 wicket each. Kashish was declared as the man of the match.
