JAMMU, Oct 21: Following the clarion call for ‘Swachh Bharat’ given by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Gandhi’s maxim that cleanliness is next to godliness, about 40 students members of Heritage Club of KC Public School led by Bindiya Sambyal, teacher-in-charge of the Club, went to Mubarak Mandi, the renowned heritage site in Jammu and an exemplary confluence of Baroque, Rajasthani, European and Mughal styles with a mission to clean up the area surrounding it.
Carrying placards bearing cleanliness slogans, the mission of the Club was not only to clean the site but also to create public awareness about it.
The students went around the premises and collected heaps of thrash in disposable bags. The public was appreciative of the efforts made by KC Public School students.
In a special assembly, Principal Amarendra Mishra appreciated the work done by the Club and added that the act of being clean does not mean being spotless.
