KC Public School celebrates 19th Annual Day with enthusiasm, zeal

JAMMU, Dec 10: KC Public School celebrated its 19th Annual Day with enthusiasm and zeal at General Zorawar Singh auditorium, Jammu University, here today.
The function was presided over by Lal Singh, Minister of Forests, Ecology and Environment. The function began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Minister followed by an invocation dance dedicated to Lord Ganesha.
Principal of the school Amarendra Mishra delivered the welcome address, which was followed by a musical composition by students of senior school based on the work of legendary musical genius Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. It was a combination of vocal and instrumental music praying for peace, brotherhood and harmony on earth.

It was followed by presentation of a report by members of Students’ Council on various activities of the school during current academic year. The report was followed by an English dance-drama “Alice in Wonderland” performed by students of Class V. The play was the dramatized version of a fantasy novel written by Lewis Carroll in which a girl named Alice falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by anthropomorphic creatures. The play, presented in Broadway style, earned vociferous applause from the audience.
After the English play, the Minister gave away awards to students for their achievement in academic, sports and extra-curricular activities.
Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh asked the teaching fraternity to help students for imbibing high values as they are architects who have the responsibility of shaping personality of students adding that  moral ethos are eroding with the influence of western culture and need of the hour is to preserve our age old traditions.
Choudhary Lal Singh said that students are building blocks of strong foundation of the nation and so deserve to be nurtured with good care and concern.  He appreciated the efforts of school administration and students for exhibiting their talent through cultural items.
The Minister asked the students to remain focused in their studies besides participating in extra-curricular activities for their overall development. He said that hard work will not only help them achieve better results and bright future but will enable them contribute towards progress and prosperity of the nation.
In his thanks-giving speech, Chairman of the school Raju Chowdhary dwelt on the educational ethos of the school envisioned by his father Sudarshan Mahajan two decades ago. He shared his resolve to sustain that ethos with complete commitment and dedication.
The concluding item of the function was a spectacular dance-drama ‘The Legend of Mother Ganga’ in Hindi presented by more than 300 students of senior school. The theme of the play revolved around the issue of environmental conservation, brought forth the significance of water as the most precious natural resource on planet earth and underlined the need to conserve it for future generations.
The function concluded with the National Anthem.
