JAMMU, May 8: Defeating MHAC School Nagbani by two goals to one via tie-breaker in the semifinals, KC International School Jammu sealed berth in the finals of the District Level Inter-School Football Tournament, as part of the ongoing activities organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at GGM Science College Ground, here today.
After a goalless draw in the stipulated time, Kanwar Pal Singh and Vikram scored goals for KC International in the tie-breaker, while Sahil netted it for MHAC School Nagbani.
Meanwhile, in hockey Under-17 girls, HS City Chowk defeated HS Gole Gujral in the first semifinals by four goals to nil (4-0), while in another semifinal, APS Miran Sahib defeated HS Simbal Camp by a solitary goal (1-0).
Meanwhile, at Satwari zone, the zonal Level Inter-School Tournament was held under the overall supervision of Sroman Dogra, zonal physical education officer and the matches were officiated by Hardev Singh, Jatinder Kour, Popinder Kour, Jasbir Kour, Assa Singh, Neelam Rani, Rani Gupta and others.
The Zonal level inter school tournament of RS Pura Zone concluded at Government City Middle School RS Pura today.
Over 200 boys participated in the tournament. The competitions were held in the disciples of kabbadi, kho-kho, volleyball and wresting in the age group of Under-14 and Under-17 years.
The tournament was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram DYSSO, Jammu and conducted under supervision of Hira Lal Pandita ZPEO RS Pura.
The matches were officiated by Govind Singh , Vijay Kumar, Amolak Singh, Ravinder Kumar,Darbari Lal, Vijender Paul Kour and Suraj Kour.
In Under-17 kho–kho Government HS Basti Gulab Garh defeated HSS Chakrohi by 2 points (13-11).
U/14 Govt Boys M/S Mill area beat city M/S RS Pura.
In kabbadi Under-17, HS Badiyal Qazian defeated HSS Chakrohi by 9 points (27-18), while in Under-14 GHS Satryian defeated City Middle School RS Pura by 13 points (23-10)
In volleyball Under-17, HS Badiyal Qazian defeated BHS Rangpura Maulana by (25-16, 25-22).
In wrestling, Under-17 boys 46 kg, Vineet Kumar HS Badiyal Qazian toppled Sunil Kumar GHS Sherbalah to win the title, while in Under-17 boys 58 kg, Ajay Kumar H S Badyial Qazian lost to Raj Kumar of GHS Sherbalah.
At Miran Sahib zone, the tournament was declared open by Principal Kiran Raina of JK Police Public School Miran Sahib.
Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu Ved Prakash visited the venue and interacted with the players on the occasion.
The competition is being held under the supervision Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu and ZPEO Miran Sahib, Sarita Padha.
The matches were officiated by Kulbir Singh, Narinder Kour, Gurcharan, Pankaj Sharma, Mulkh Raj Sharma Surender Kour, Kuldeep Kour, Pardeep, Hardeep, Rajinder, Ashok and Nisha.
