JAMMU, Aug 13: Speaker of J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta inaugurated the Roller Skating Championship in an impressive and well attended function at Skating Rink, M A Stadium, here today.
A good number of sportspersons drawn from prominent Schools of district Jammu are participating in the Championship, which is being organized by the Five Star Club, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Roller Skating Association and under the overall supervision of its president GS Khurmi. Kamal Anand, Speed coach of RSFI is the organizing secretary of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gupta stressed upon the skaters to shun video games, mobile games and allied things and take part in outdoor games to be healthier.
He lavished praise on Roshan Gupta and Kamal Anand in producing international skating stuff from the State.
Meanwhile, in 6-8 inline 300 mtrs boys, Yuvraj claimed gold, Vasu Jamwal silver and Arnav bronze, while in 8-10 boys 300 mtrs inline, gold, silver and bronze medals went to Sewa Dhani, Ayush Sharma and Harman respectively.
In 8-10 300 mtrs inline girls, Gursimran bagged gold, Priyanshi won silver and Aanya clinched bronze, while in 10-12 300 mtrs inline girls, Saanch Anand and Garima bagged gold and silver respectively.
In 10-12 300 mtrs inline boys, Jaipreet won gold, Tanish Arrora bagged silver and Gagan claimed gold, while in 12-14 inline boys 300 mtrs, Jaideep Singh, Parth Slathia and Vansh Rajput claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively. Yuvraj Singh won gold in 14-16 300 mtrs inline boys.
In loose bearings 0-4 boys, Shivanshu, Dashvir Singh and Abhigyan claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in 4-6 Loose bearings boys, Athrav, Anshit and Pandurang bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 4-6 Loose bearings girls, Manisha won gold, Danika bagged silver and Advika Singh clinched bronze.
The gold medals Loose bearings in 6-8 boys, 6-8 girls, 8-10 boys and 8-10 girls went to Agambir Singh, Adfar Haroon Naik, Vishal and Angel respectively, while the gold medals in Loose bearings 10-12 boys, 10-12 girls, 12-14 boys, 12-14 girls and above 16 boys went to Rajat Gupta, Khushi, Yogeshwar, Navya Singh and Prince respectively.
The gold medals in various age groups quads boys and girls were claimed by Shreyasm, Praanya Puri, Shaurya, Charul, Samamanya, Suhani, Sushant, Dhriti, Panini, Kanisha, Rakshit and Sudesh Kumar.
