KISHTWAR, May 23: District Kathua today clinched Under-14 girls kabaddi title by defeating district Samba by 22 points in finals of the State Level Inter- District Under-14 Girls Kabaddi Tournament organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, here.
The concluding ceremony of the tournament was held at HSS Girls Kishtwar under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kishtwar, Dewan Chand Thakur. The Tournament was held under the patronage of Director General of Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal.
The concluding ceremony was presided over by Additional SP, Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom, while as CEO Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Sen, Principal HSS Boys, Kamal Kishore Sharma and Principal HSS Girls, Prehlad Bhagat were the guests of honour.
The final match was played between the teams of District Kathua and District Samba in which District Kathua won the match by 22 points. District Kathua scored 38 points while District Samba scored 16 points.
A cultural item was also displayed by Daffodil Model Public School under the guidance of Nisar Doolwal, cultural officer.
Prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners and runner-up teams by the chief guest amidst cheers.
The matches were officiated by Chander Shekhar, Lecturer Physical Education HSS Boys Kishtwar; Subash Chander, Jodinder Singh, Subash Chander, Roshan Lal, Zorawer, Sanjay Sen, Karnail Singh, Arshad Chowdri, Bharti Sherwat, Reva Sharma and Kusum Lata.
