RAMBAN, May 23: Kathua district clinched title trophy of the Under-17 Girls Inter-District Championship at Ramban, defeating Jammu district by 6 points, here today.
District Development Commissioner Ramban, M H Malik was the chief guest and Additional Superintendent of Police Ramban and Chief Education Officer Ramban were the guests of honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC stressed upon the students to ensure their participation in sports and allied activities for their overall development and a successful future.
Students of various districts of the State participated in the Championship, which was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at District Police Lines ground, here.
A culture bonanza was also presented on valedictory function by the students of various schools including Girls High School Ramban, Ramban Public School, BBM and Nav Bharat Ramban.
The Tournament was held under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal and under the supervision of DYSSO Ramban, Jarpal Singh.
