BHADERWAH, June 13: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, inaugurated the Annual Camp for B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed students (2025-26) at the picturesque Bhaderwah Campus.
This 10-day residential camp aims to enhance physical fitness, discipline, leadership and team spirit among students through a series of structured academic and outdoor activities such as daily physical training sessions, trekking, tent pitching and inter-institutional sports competitions.
Colonel Yogesh Chauhan (4RR), who graced the opening ceremony as chief guest, addressed the students and emphasized the importance of discipline, physical preparedness, teamwork and perseverance for success in life.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director of the Directorate, highlighted the camp’s contribution to holistic development, stating that such initiatives not only improve physical and mental well-being but also foster personal growth and stress management.
Various institutions participated in the sports competitions, including the PG Department, University of Jammu; GDC Bhaderwah and Government Higher Secondary Schools of Nichla Thara Gatha, Sartangal, and Bhaderwah. In athletics, the PG Department dominated events like shot put, 100m, 200m and relays, while GDC Bhaderwah also performed strongly, especially in sprint and relay events.
In the volleyball final, the PG Department defeated Govt. Hr. Sec. School Sartangal in a closely contested 2-1 match. The camp is being conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba and is efficiently coordinated by Vimal Kishore, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Gagan Kumar, Jai Bharat, Harinderpal Singh, Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Manjeet Kotwal, Rishiv Sharma, Richa Mandla and accompanying staff.
