Jugal inaugurates U-19 Speedball tourney; Agarwal declares open U-19 Roll Ball C’ship

SAMBA/KATHUA, Feb 4: Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament today inaugurated the 60th National School Games Under-19 Speedball for boys and girls Tournament at M.V International School  opposite 17 Miles Samba, while Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal today inaugurated the 60th National School Games under the aegis of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in Roll Ball at Kathua, today.
At MV International School Samba, MLA Vijaypur Chander Parkash Sharma, , MLA Suchetgarh Sham Lal Choudhary, Director General Youth Service and Sports, Navin Agarwal, Deputy commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda, SSP Samba Joginder Singh, ACR Samba Sonu Pargal and  SDM Vijaypur Rajneesh Gupta were also present on the occasion.
As many as 20 state level teams from various States are participating in the Speedball Championship which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the aegis of School Games Federation of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Jugal impressed upon the students to take part in the games and sports and also excel in academics.
Earlier, DG Youth Services and Sports Navin Agarwal also spoke on the occasion and advised the students to take part in games and sports as these play an important role in our life.
Prominent among others Chairman of the M V International School was also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, addressing the inaugural function at Kathua, Mr Agarwal said that the motive behind organizing this National event in districts other than Capital cities of the State is purely to provide an opportunity to the youngsters living in these areas and hunt for the hidden talent available in the rural areas.
He thanked the district administration for giving support in making this national event possible in the district Kathua despite scarcity of required infrastructure.
He said that elaborate arrangements had been made for boarding and lodging for the participant players.
A colourful cultural programme was presented on the occasion.
Earlier, the championship was declared open after unfurling of SGFI Flag by the chief guest Mr. Agarwal followed by March Past and oath ceremony by the participants.
Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Shahid Iqbal, SSP Kathua,  Neeva Jain and other distinguished guests were present on the occasion.
