JAMMU, Feb 4: District Football Anantnag and Science College Football Club registered wins and entered the next round of ongoing 3rd Christmas Soccer Championship for College Students and J&K Footballers, being organized jointly by J&K Police and Christian Sports Organization, under the supervision of Shakeel Beig, DIG Jammu and Fr Kuriakose, Chairman Christian Sports Organization at Science College football Ground, here.
Earlier, in the first match, District Football Anantnag defeated Kathua Football Club by two goals to one (2-1). The first goal from DF Anantnag was scored by Aquib in 48th minute and the second goal was netted by Tahir in 60th minute of the match. The only goal from Kathua Club was pelted by Rizwan Ali in 25th minute. During the match yellow cards were shown to two players of DF Anantnag including Tariq Reshi in 19th minute and Zahoor in 64th minute, while red card to Tariq in second half.
In the second match, Science College defeated Singh Club R S Pura by three goals to nil (3-0). For Science College, Pranab scored first goal in 36th minute, Naman scored the second goal in 65th minute and the third goal was scored by Anuj Sharma in 68th minute of the game.
Now, Science College will lock horns with DF Anantnag tomorrow.
The in-charges of officiating team are R P Singh and Gagan of Jammu University, while the officials are Harneel Singh, Ranjay, Feroz and Javed Ahmad.
The organizing secretaries of the tournament are Asif Gill and David Mattoo, whereas Rajesh Gill is the Coordinator of the tournament.
