JAMMU, Aug 10: Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council today organised a Judo Championship for both boys and girls in connection with Independence Day Sports Week at Bhagwati Nagar Indoor Hall, here.
Romesh Chander, ADC Jammu was the chief guest of the event who declared open the championship.
The chief guest marked the need to identify the hidden talent from the villages by organising such competitions. “Youth needs to be educated about the benefits of sports,” he asserted.
The championship is being organised under the supervision of Dr Zafar Iqbal Chief Accounts Officer J&K Sports Council.
Welcome address was presented by Divisional Sports Officer Jammu, whereas matches were officiated by Ritka Salathia, Vikas Dogra, Arshinad and Surajbhan Singh, all Judo Coaches.
