VC calls on inviting eminent artists to inspire students

JAMMU, Feb 13: Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu congratulated the students of the University who have brought laurels to the State by winning awards in three events in 34th National Inter-University Youth Festival organized by Chandigarh University, Mohali under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
Prof Dhar further said that University should arrange an interaction/workshop and lectures for eminent artists, who have made their mark in cultural and literary activities on national and international forum, so that students of our University benefit from their experience and expertise, to inspire them to take up cultural and literary activities in future.
Prof Shailendra Singh Jamwal, Dean Students Welfare also congratulated the team and wished them best of luck for all their endeavours.
It is pertinent to mention here that in the mega event where around 1700 students from 107 Universities of the country participated in a tough competition, the Team of Seerat Baji and Shivika Thakur stood first in Debate Competition, team of Chetan Bandral, Stanzin Tsepel, Sheetal Kumari and Aziz Verma stood third in Installation and Seerat Baji stood Third in Elocution.
The contingent was headed by Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer) and Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor).
Prof SK Pandita, Chairman Campus Cultural Committee, Dr Anil Gupta & Dr Garima Gupta (Assistant Deans SW) and Dr Vinay Thusoo, In-charge Media were also present on the occasion.
